“We recently had a wonderful and inspiring tour of the old city centre of Amsterdam by Edward. We enjoyed the knowledge that Edward has gathered about the city. The beautiful archive photos to support it spoke to our imagination, which really brought the story to life. In addition, Edward spoke fluent English, which allowed our future American daughter-in-law to fully enjoy it. We have visited Amsterdam many times, but Edward was still able to point out beautiful, quiet places that we had not yet discovered. Time flew by and due to our many questions and our tight schedule, we were unfortunately unable to complete the tour and Edward adjusted the programme slightly at our request. We are looking forward to doing the same tour again or one of the other options, and hope that Edward's wife will join us again. The tour was a gem and Edward is the right wearer of this gem.”

A good substantive tour, with lots of facts. In the first 10 minutes we already thought, we are in the right place here! Someone who talks about history with passion. We took a nice and long walk, discovered many beautiful places and had a nice drink with Edward. Highly recommended. We will definitely book another of his tours!”

Everyone knows that the KLM houses are inspired by Dutch homes, but that five of them have been rebuilt as a series probably not. You find out this and much more. "My partner and I have lived in Amsterdam for more than 10 years and often walk along the canals. We thought it would be great to learn more about the buildings and facades that we always walk past and to learn more about the history of our city We didn't quite like joining a large group of tourists, so we ended up at Historic Amsterdam for a walk 'Canals and Facades' in December 2022. What a nice experience! Edward opened our eyes and showed us the city center show from a different perspective, with stories, facts and illustrations that you will not just get anywhere else.It was a very cold day, but Edward and his wife enthusiastically guided us through the city and in between enjoyed a glass of mulled wine with us Incredibly sweet and warm people.We look forward to learning a lot of new things about other parts of the city during another walking tour of Historical Amsterdam!"

Our goal was to go back to the end of the 80-year war (1648 ) to experience what Amsterdam looked like then, what developments the city was going through at the time and what all this involved.
